Freeland To Lecture Law Students on Bankruptcy

Oxford attorney Hale Freeland has been requested to teach a "flash class" to members of the Business Law Society at the University of Mississippi School of Law on Wednesday, February 22, 2012, on the subject of federal bankruptcy law.  The objective of a flash class is to give students who might be interested in further study of a particular legal topic an overview of that subject in a brief, one hour class.  The request acknowledges Freeland's many years of study and practice of this area of the law.

Freeland Shull, PLLC, has recently opened an office in the greater Jackson area.  Attorney J. Michael Traylor, Esq. (601.709.9490) will head up that office.  The new office is located at 574 Highland Colony Parkway, Suite 320M, Ridgeland, MS 39157.  All mail will be handled by the Oxford office (P.O. Martz Wins Appeal *** Updated

Updated:  The firm of Freeland Shull, PLLC in Oxford, Mississippi is pleased to announce that the Mississippi Court of Appeals, on October 11, 2010, unanimously affirmed the Circuit Court's decision dismissing the Claimant's case.  In sum, Freeland Shull was successfully able to defend this case before the administrative judge, Mississippi Workers' Compensation Commission, Union County Circuit Court, and the Mississippi Court of Appeals, winning unanimous decisions at each level.  Read the entire opinion for yourself here.The Claimant's appeal of case decided in favor of the Employer, discussed in an earlier news article, was denied in an order from the Union...

Martz Wins Important WC Case *** Updated

In an order dated December 21, 2010, Oxford attorney Reed Martz successfully defended, on behalf of his client, a worker's compensation claim involving a below the knee amputation stemming from a foot infection in a long-time employee.  The employee  claimed that his required steel toe boots rubbed a blister on his foot which subsequently became infected and, due to complications from his pre-existing uncontrolled diabetes, required multiple amputations to save his life.  Through a painstaking review of the evidence discovered during the investigation of the claim, Martz was able to show numerous inconsistencies in the Claimant's story as well as...
